SpringCard launches EasyFinger, a contact and contactless smartcard reader/writer with an integrated digital recognition scanner.
With EasyFinger, a simple scan of one’s fingertip verifies user identification, allowing secure access to classified computer files, permitting entry to secure areas, and authenticating electronic signatures
• TECHNOLOGY AND SIMPLICITY
Not only simple, but also secure, Finger is comprised of a fingerprint scanner and a contact or contactless reader. The scanner captures the user’s fingertip image and compares it to previously authorized biometric data. At the same time, the reader accepts the smartcard, offering two-fold protection at the time of identification.
EasyFinger eliminates the need for password entry or memorization. Users literally have access at the tips of their fingers! This eliminates one of the major causes of user frustration in today’s electronic world.
• MYRIAD APPLICATIONS
EasyFinger offers numerous applications: signing electronic documents, reading documents that contain digital recognition systems (such as passports, driver licenses, identification cards), and accessing highly secure areas by using \"reinforced authentication\" – a numeric signature via a crypto T card combined with a biometric data.
EasyFinger enables electronic signatures on documents by allowing the encryption of data through the smartcard and authenticating biometric information.
• COMPATIBILITY
EasyFinger belongs to a new generation of readers/writers equipped with biometric technology, which supplements \"traditional\" systems, like the badges.
Based on a smartcard coupler plug ISO 7816, two micro SIM/SAM connectors and a fingerprint reader from Sagem MorphoSmart CBM, the EasyFinger is an elaborate technology and yet a simple solution for everyday life.
In addition, EasyFinger is entirely compatible with contactless cards ISO 14443 and MIFARE, making it possible to combine physical access control with logical access control.
