Once upon a time, there was a research consultancy
Launched in 2000, spurred by its current CEO Denis Pietersoone, the Pro Active company arose from the emancipation from the Noralsy research consultancy, a leader in France in apartment building access control systems. The young company, having quickly spotted the great growth potential of the market for electronic identification technologies, decided to specialize in the research and design of reading systems for smart cards, with or without contact. A wise decision. Thanks to their engineers' ingenuity and energy, Pro Active's know-how has become vital amongst the main manufacturers of this industry. In 2004, the start-up welcomed a key shareholder and pursued its growth. Thales, Sagem, JCDecaux, HP, EADS, Aéroports de Paris, Nedap, ITN International, Zetes, Wayfarer... The contracts and success stories follow one by one.
From Palaiseau to San Diego
In addition to its research consultancy business, Pro Active has shifted its efforts toward the manufacture of its own products. The company has therefore developed its industrial know-how and production skills while attracting the interest of partners and exposing itself to new opportunities. As a result, and since 2007, the card readers that Pro Active designs and produces are now used in Paris' Velib terminals and they control access to sensitive areas of Paris' airports.
In July 2007, Pro Active highlights its calling to get close to the end user, while expressing its international ambitions, by inaugurating its San Diego subsidiary. This effort led to the French company being awarded an International Trophy by the General Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses.
In November 2008, the adventure continues.
